F.A.Q.

GENERAL QUESTIONS

Q: What grades do you accept for your math programs?

We currently accept students in Grades 3–8, with two distinct pathways:

  • Math Enrichment (Grades 3–5)

  • Pre-Algebra (Grades 5–8)

Students are placed based on readiness and teacher recommendation.

Q: How are students placed into Math Enrichment or Pre-Algebra?

Placement is based on grade level, teacher input, and the student’s readiness.

Q: Can my child take both Math and Chess?

Yes. Many students choose to take both programs.
For Grades 3–5, the Math + Chess Combo makes scheduling easy.
Older students may attend on different days depending on placement.

Q: What is your teaching style?

Clear, structured, and student-centered.
We focus on:

  • conceptual understanding

  • step-by-step reasoning

  • confidence building

  • problem-solving skills

  • real-world applications

Our approach supports both struggling learners and advanced students.

Q: Do you assign homework?

Homework is minimal and optional.
Students may be encouraged to complete short Mathspace practice outside class for reinforcement.

Q: How do you update parents on progress?

We provide regular communication, including progress notes, placement recommendations, and individual feedback as needed.

Q: What if my child needs more challenge or support?

Because our groups are small, we can adjust instruction and pacing to meet the needs of each student.
We also discuss placement changes when students are ready.

ENROLLMENT & TUITION

Q: Is there a registration fee?

No registration fees.
Your monthly tuition covers instruction, materials, and Mathspace access (Grades 3–5).

Q: How does billing work?

Tuition is billed monthly.
Your payment reserves your child’s spot in the class.

Q: What is your class cancellation/make-up policy?

Make-up sessions may be offered when available, but they are not guaranteed.
Tuition holds your child’s weekly instructional time and classroom seat.

Q: How do we enroll?

Simply contact us or submit the enrollment form.
Because groups are small, spaces fill quickly.
